Download Evaluation Copy of the EZ Data Dictionary® Software

Our objective for the installation of the EZ Data Dictionary software is to have you operational within an hour of starting the download, with one of your own databases.   In order to do this, we have made some assumptions to get you started faster, so that you don't have to study a lot about the product before you get started.  The evaluation version of the EZ Data Dictionary® Software requires the following on the workstation where the installation will be performed:

1.   You must have Microsoft Access® 2002 or later installed on the workstation.  Even though this is not required for other users (if you want to use SQL Server®, Oracle®, or UDB® for Windows), we require it as a simplified beginning point for your first installation.  This will simplify the issues of security, user codes, passwords, etc.  It also means that you should not require a DBA (Database Administrator) in order to install and run the evaluation software.   You will probably want your DBA to see the evaluation software in action and review the documentation before you implement the system fully, but that can happen later.

2.  You must have Windows 2000®, Windows XP®, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Vista.

3.   If the Microsoft .Net framework® is not installed on the workstation, the installation program will install it.

You can install the software on a server, or on the workstation.   Once it is installed, and you run it for the first time, the following limitations will apply to the evaluation copy of the software:

1.   You may use it for 30 days.

2.   You may add up to 3 of your own databases to the EZ Data Dictionary Database.

All other functions of EZ Data Dictionary® are complete.   You may have as many other users as you would like run the software with these same restrictions.  The download file is about 63 MB, so you will want to have a fast connection to the internet in order to download it. Once the installation is complete, it will place about 15 MB of storage on your installation location.  You may have another user use the software, by doing one of two things:

1.   Have them run the EZ Data Dictionary® User software installation and perform some .net security functions to allow the software to run on a server.  

or

2.   Install the Microsoft .Net Framework® on the user workstation, and create a shortcut to the EZ Data Dictionary application, and perform some .net security functions to allow the softwareto run on a server.

You will want to review our Getting Started (tutorial) document which will show you what to do after you install the software.
